Today I received an unexpected package in the mail, and to my surprise it was from MS&Co., and inside was a Selvage Denim Field Notes Sleeve from their new Selvage Sleeve collection.  The product looks just in good in person as it does in picture and might I add, the craftsmanship is top notch; the sleeve is tailored to perfection for the field notes notebooks.  With Christmas around the corner MS&Co. should definitely be considered for gifts.

Thanks again Phil for your love and support to The Essential Man.

Just recently I acquired some vintage Persol Ratti eyeglasses (deadstock) and yesterday I decided to see how well they photographed (or how well I photographed lol).  This pair of Persol’s are very special for more reasons than one, but one thing that stands out besides the circular frame is the fact that the signature arrow is gold instead of the usual silver. I know you true eyewear collectors know what I am talking about.

If you are the type of individual who prefers to wear garments with minimal branding, then you may find this post helpful.  It happens too often that I rule against buying certain items particularly because they are too branded or because the placement of the logo is horrible (just strong yet humble opinion).  I wish more companies considered the fact that the logo placement is just as important as the actual design, and that a misplaced logo can change (for the worse) the whole dynamic of the item.  A few years ago I was exposed to the power of a seam ripper and how reliable it is for resolving these types of problems.  Today I made use of this handy tool myself…check out my results below!

It’s pretty amazing to see how a nice shirt instantly becomes a classic shirt just by removing the misplaced logo.  Hopefully this information is helpful and that you will no longer have to pass on buying items you like simply because you don’t want to be a walking advertisement.

Yesterday I was able enjoy my day off from work by vibing (< is that a real word?) out to new Kanye West album (Gorgeous and Blame Game are my personal favorites), which ultimately inspired me creatively as well…hopefully in the next few months I will have something tangible to show you guys.

I can honestly say that the worst thing about having an online platform is the spam mail that comes with it!  Seriously, I receive SO much spam mail that often times it causes me to avoid checking my emails altogether.  Just last week I received an interesting message with the subject line reading “Lorenzo: Know Where Your Towel Has REALLY Been?“.  Come on…you know you would had to read/opened that email too, but to my surprise, it was something that I was actually interested in.  I figured, I’ll just share the email with you…

Hi Lorenzo, I thought you might like to check this out: Sure reusing towels is good for the environment, but for those that might find it a little unsanitary (was this on my face, or my butt yesterday?), I thought The Essential Man readers might like to check out the brand new True Clean Towel.   Let me know if you’d like some samples.  The simple genius behind it: Never again will your face, ass and crotch share the same towel space!  While the concept is of course meant to be funny, I think many girlfriends will also in particular, when sharing a towel, appreciate not drying their face in the same place their boyfriend dried his balls. :-)

There was more to the email, but you pretty much get the point.  This product speaks directly to me because I absolutely hate using the same towel more than once for those very reasons.  When I was young (early adolescence), my grandmother didn’t really enforce too many rules on me, but one thing she did not allow was me using the same wash towel twice (especially after touching the “ass”), and still to this day I don’t (which explains why I’m always washing towels).  Too make a short-story shorter…yesterday I received my True Clean Towel package, and this morning I tested it out!

In my humble opinion, it is a simple concept done RIGHT, and they do a great job selling the product.  See for yourself…their campaigns are on point!

*Disclaimer* Brace yourself for this one (↓).

Thanks Jeff for reaching out to me and allowing me to experience the True Clean Towel first hand (lol no pun intended).

If you have been following The Essential Man for some time now then you probably remember my post when I was trying to decide on my next camera; I was between buying the Canon EOS Rebel T2i or the Canon Powershot G12.  Well I am pleased to announce that for the time being I decided to go with the G12, and get the T2i a few months from now.  So far, I love the camera!

From here on in, you can start expecting a lot more pictures from me lol!

I came across The Man’s Guide To Love site about two months ago, and since then I have been following it.  I figure us men could all use a little advice when it comes to LOVE.  Please take some time out and watch a few of the videos…it is very worth it!  Enjoy your Sunday!

Goodmorning everyone…sorry I haven’t posted anything in these last few days, but I believe I am back now (as if I was really missed)!  About a month ago I was exposed to the fresh and innovative pocket square brand Armstrong & Wilson (based in Phila) through a photo spread my fellow essential man Ruben of  Two Inch Cuffs put together (great job bro!). Since then I have been following A&W, and I have also had the opportunity to catch up with one of the two founders (O. Armstrong) to learn more about the company.  Be expecting an interview, and possibly a photo editorial of my own in the next few weeks or so, but until then…please enjoy another sneak peak (literally) of some of the A&W pocket squares which will be available REALLY SOON.

The “Grandma’s Flowers” (shown above) pocket square has to be one of my personal favorites because it offers so many options with outfitting and color combinations.  I can’t wait to break that one out on em’!  Not that they need any co-signs or anything, but in my humble opinion Armstrong & Wilson has really revolutionized the design for pocket squares.  Just watch what comes next…

This picture speak in volumes.  I’ve always wondered where Dr. King would be if he lived to see our (USA) first black President and this picture provides the answer- right there with him!  Whoever created this is NICE on photoshop.
