I only know one person who shares the same love and admiration as I do for the American brand, UNIS, and that’s my buddy/business partner, Quimari Majette- so I felt it was only right to enlist him for this installment of “Essential Picks” featuring the UNIS Gio chinos.  Read his “tailored observation” below.

Since 2000 Nolita has housed a coveted brand of menswear enthusiasts alike.  UNIS, a thoughtfully designed contemporary brand is home to everything from rumpled and beaten chambray shirts to some of the bestfitting chinos and jackets.  Function is key when purchasing a chino, which comes from British and French military uniforms but gained U.S popularity when the Spanish-American war veterans returned from the Phillipines with their twill military trousers.  Having different fits, colors and fabrication all tie into todays function of a chino.  The Gio pant by UNIS is the perfect Spring/Summer weight and have a more tailored fit that can easily be dressed up.  Worn here in the Mint colorway, this flat frontpant made from 100% Italian Cotton and produced right here in the U.S.A is surely an essential pick.

With that been said, if you are in the market for a good-versatile chino that can be worn year around, and are willing to spend a lil’ ($228.00) money- UNIS maybe the way to go.  Thank us later.
