Since my post regarding “my new denim jeans” everyone has been asking me about them…well this is the answer to all of your questions.  A few months ago while looking at Denim Debate, I was exposed to an up and coming denim brand by the name of oneculture, and since I was unfamiliar with the brand I decided to do my own research- which ultimately led to my new found love for the company.  To fast forward to a few months later (now) it’s only right that oneculture is the brand for my next denim experiment. Just to give you a little background information, oneculture is an independently run San Francisco Bay Area based denim brand that offers a fresh, thoughtful perspective on raw denim. The jeans are a stylishly eccentric mix of Mark’s (owner/designer) 1970’s childhood nostalgia, architecture and Bay Area home town pride- with a pinch of denim geek.

- Size: 30×34
- Made from 100% cotton, 14oz., sanforized Japanese selvedge denim
- Sewn up in oneculture’s signature thread color reference: “1978″ (Orange, Brown and Turquoise)

So my initial impression of the PULSAR’s are positive; in terms of fit, they are pretty dead on for my body type (tall and slender).  With the exception to my last pair of RRL’s, I haven’t come across too many pairs of denim where the initial fit is almost perfect without any alterations.  In fact, the only thing that really stopped the jeans from being completely perfect (in fit) is the rise (crotch area), despite the fact that I got them a little tighter, I still think the rise could be dropped down slightly (add about a 1/2 inch) just for more comfort.  Just in case you are concerned about the jeans being a little too tight, don’t worry, this is all part of the plan…I’ve learned from past experiences that being slightly uncomfortable (tight, but not to where it effects your ability to reproduce) in the beginning has a better reward when they stretch out in the end.  Nonetheless, this is a damn good pair of denim.  Stay tuned as I continue to document the whole process.  Also please comment and let me know your thoughts!
